first week of first semester at EIU! FREE STUFF GALORE!

So, I moved in on August 18th. God it was humid. That's to be expected because it either rains or is super hot on move-on day, you know I'm right. Most of my friends were here already and the only reason I got to move in early was for Panther Pals! So i basically moved in early to help people move their stuff in. I got sunburn in return for my manual labor climbing up and down three flights of stairs. That's what you get for being helpful. Oh yeah, don't forget the parents complaining about the parking situation. Good lord.

Anyways. The week went on...it only got better. My friends and I went to this event they call Up All Night. Mostly just so we could get free stuff, including a FREE tshirt! We get there early (7:30 pm) and they wont let us in so we made our way down the cafe lounge to wait until exactly 8:00 pm...the time it officially started. After a little while we began seeing people head towards the entrance so we decided to follow this group of guys so we could get in line. As soon as we rounded the corner of the hallway a lady shouts, "Okay, Weller Hall look this way for a picture!" We were like, "Ooooh shit!" So now we are in some hall's picture and we don't belong in it! We made our way down to the Cyber Lounge to play bingo and to hopefully win some good prizes. We played for almost an hour and none of us won anything. What a joke. I swear it's rigged because the same damn people kept winning. It was bullshit! After our poor luck in bingo we waited in line to make FREE spin art sun glasses for 30 minutes and then entered the mob of students waiting in line to receive FREE tshirts. Bad idea. As soon as the girl yelled out who was giving out what size tshirts the mob pushed forward, squeezing me, along with two of my friends like sardines in an air tight can. Girls started screaming and the guys leaning over us were yelling, "I WANT MY FREE TSHIRT!" Being pushed so hard actually helped us get to the head of the mob, we thankfully didn't complain about that. We decided to grab our FREE cookies, brownies, and drinks and got the hell outta there!

The next few blogs will bring more exciting events that have happened this first week on campus...stay tuned, there's more funny shit to come!
